10 Women Who Changed the World We Live In

It’s surprising to us that in this day and age we still need to have an ‘official’ day to recognise and champion women and women’s rights. Nevertheless, International Women’s Day has come and gone for another year and gave us the opportunity to reflect upon how women have changed the world we live in.

Throughout history, many strong women had to rise against the odds and fight for their dreams and passions, equality and solidarity among men. Their bravery contributed to shaping today’s world, and has to be remembered.

Here’s our list of women that helped contribute to the world we live in today. They’re not all household names, but they definitely should be…

(this comment was flagged as spam for some reason so here it is again) what makes the woman hitting a neo nazi with her handbag world changing, and worth being on the same list as Curie? one helped invent x ray photography, saving uncounted lives, another hit a neo nazi with a handbag. surely there are more than 9 world changing women, (other dubious entries are the Armenian woman who doesnt get a name, muslim woman who doesnt get a name, and the female fire fighters that don’t get names.) all heroic and important people to their communities im sure. but how did any of them change the world. Where is Hedy Lamarr who invented Spread Spectrum Technology which lead to wifi and gps being develped while at the same time bing a top listed screen actress? where is Rosalind Franklin who aided Watson and Kirk in findin the exact structure of the DNA double helix? and countless more. this article is a disgrace to world changing women, if it equates an act of kindness or violence caught in a kodak moment as something equivalent to a life of hard work that fundamentally changed the way we live and experience the world.

‘They’re not all household names, but they definitely should be…’
proceeds to make a listicle omitting the names of half the entries
no wonder theres no author name attached
