American artist Heather Theurer loves Disney. So much so that her latest series focuses on Disney-inspired paintings in the style of the Pre-Raphaelite artists of the late 19th century.
Heather explains that she isnt so focused on re-creating Disney itself, but rather to “transcend the ordinary and go beyond and down the rabbit hole, in search of new meaning”.
As you will see when you scroll down, Heather’s paintings do more than simply focussing on physical resemblances of the characters, but rather capture and convey their struggles, hope, and pride – attributes that wouldn’t be obvious to the naked eye.
