Stunning Photograph of Woman’s C-Section Scar and Her Baby

Untitled

One of the biggest decisions facing a future mother is the type of birth they choose to have when they bring their new baby into the world… a natural birth or a non natural birth. They both have their pros and cons and ultimately the decision comes down to the mother after expert consultation with their specialist.

Photographer Helen Aller recently took this intimate photo of a mother and her three-day-old baby boy next to her caesarean incision. The woman wanted to have a vaginal birth, but was forced to have an emergency caesarean due to complications. She wanted a picture taken of the operation that saved her and her baby.

“I photographed this mama’s pregnancy a while back and she was telling me how terrified she was of having a c-section,” wrote Aller on Facebook. “Well last week she went into labor but had to have an emergency c-section after complications. She asked me to come over this morning and shoot this particular image as her worst nightmare proved to be what saved her and her child’s lives.”

“[She] wanted something to show that her biggest fear was what in the end saved both of them. I think she will see that scar and appreciate the life they were given”.

  1. First of all, I wouldn’t want my mother to take such photo and post it online. Placing a naked baby on a naked adult, especially on the crotch, is not okay, it’s weird, and I’m sure it’s something pedophiles enjoy very much watching all over the internet.

    1. I hope you’re joking, you do know that the benefits of having a “naked baby on a naked adult” (the newborn and their MOTHER) have huge benefits both mentally and physically for both the newborn and the mother. Birth is a natural process and, believe it or not, normal birth means that babies do come into contact with their mothers crotch area. After a c-section, skin to skin is even more necessary to help develop the hormones that might have been disrupted due to the operation. You’re entitled to your opinion, but if you ask me the very fact you made that comment on a photograph that portrays love and facing fears in a matter of life and death shows how twisted you are. There is nothing pornographic or “paedophilic” about this photograph. End of.
